Mystical Writing: Strategies and Imagination
Saturday, November 14, 2020, 4-6 PM Online
What can the great mystics of the past teach us about moving through and beyond the divisiveness of identities into a full place of interconnectedness? Mystical knowledge, through human history, has often been subversive not only of hierarchical structures but also of oppositions that keep us divided and apart. When channelled through creative forms, it has given us new understandings of the world. In this writing workshop, we will explore some of these mystical strategies by turning to the writings and teachings of iconoclastic mystics, in particular the 15th century poet Kabir. Please bring writing materials and wear loose, comfortable clothing so you can move.
